There is one thing I am becoming more and more certain about:
One day, you will regret not traveling more.
Not because you didn’t buy another car.
Not because you didn’t have a bigger house.
Not because you didn’t buy the latest phone.
You will probably regret all those trips you never took.
That country you always wanted to visit.
That ski resort you’ve been looking at for years.
That friend you always told: “One day we’ll go.”
The problem is that one day may never come.
We Always Think We Have Time
“I’ll travel later.”
“Next year.”
“When I have more money.”
“When I have more time.”
And meanwhile, the years go by.
There will always be something else to do. Work, responsibilities, family, problems, projects…
That’s why the perfect moment probably doesn’t exist.
Sometimes you simply have to decide:
I’m going.
Traveling Means Collecting Memories
You can spend money on many things, but most of them lose their emotional value over time.
Travel often does the opposite.
Years later, you remember that mountain, that meal, that road, that night, that person you met or that incredible powder day.
And you probably think:
“I’m so glad I went.”
That’s what we’re really buying when we travel.
Memories.
Traveling Also Means Leaving Your Bubble
When you spend too much time in the same place, it’s easy to think that your way of living is the normal way.
Until you travel.
You discover different cultures, languages, food and ways of understanding life.
You realize that the world is much bigger than you thought.
