Ushuaia is a spectacular place, surrounded by rugged mountains and overlooking the famous Beagle Channel. Even a simple walk along the waterfront gives you the feeling of being at the edge of the world.
Skiing takes place at Cerro Castor, known for its reliable snow and excellent piste conditions. The resort offers well-groomed slopes and consistent winter weather, making it one of the best ski destinations in South America.
The schedule is designed to remain flexible. Participants can ski several days in a row or mix ski days with other activities depending on their pace and interests. Optional experiences in the region include:
- Mountain hikes in remote Patagonian landscapes
- Visits to Tierra del Fuego National Park
- 4×4 off-road excursions
- Boat navigation through the Beagle Channel
- Glacier walks
Midweek the group will enjoy one included Patagonian experience. Depending on weather conditions and availability, we will do one of the following:
- Boat navigation through the Beagle Channel, exploring the dramatic landscapes of southern Patagonia
- Visit to Tierra del Fuego National Park aboard the famous End of the World Train
The idea is to keep the program adaptable, allowing skiing and exploration to naturally balance throughout the week.
📍 Location
Ushuaia sits at the southern edge of Argentina, surrounded by mountains, forests, and the cold waters of the southern oceans.
Just a short distance from the city lies Cerro Castor, a quiet ski resort known for dependable snow and a long winter season. July is typically one of the best months for skiing and snowboarding in this part of the world.
Within Ushuaia itself you’ll find cozy cafés, small restaurants, and scenic waterfront walks — perfect for relaxing between ski days.
One of the great advantages of the destination is how quickly you can reach incredible landscapes. Glaciers, alpine valleys, forests, and coastal scenery are all easily accessible, keeping the focus on outdoor experiences rather than long travel times.
🛏️ Accommodation
Accommodation is based in shared apartments in Ushuaia, equipped with kitchens that make self-catering easy and encourage a relaxed group atmosphere.
The apartments are located within convenient reach of local services and transport to the ski area, allowing you to rest comfortably between days on the mountain.
Beds are allocated to balance comfort and group logistics. Evenings often become a highlight of the trip, with people sharing meals, stories, and plans for the next ski day.
These apartments are simple, clean, and practical rather than luxurious, selected primarily for their location and convenience.
A basic breakfast is provided to help start the day before heading to the mountain.
📝 Prerequisites
Participants must be 18 years or older.
Beginners are welcome. The flexible structure of the trip allows new skiers or snowboarders to progress gradually and decide how many days they want to ski.
More experienced riders can take advantage of longer days on the mountain and maximize their time on snow.
A moderate level of fitness is recommended due to repeated activity, cold temperatures, and optional excursions.
Flexibility is also important when travelling in remote regions like Patagonia, where plans may adapt to weather and mountain conditions.
